This compact adapter for the X1D camera system allows XPan lenses to be used. Although XPan lenses have been discontinued, they were available in the following focal lengths: F 5.6/30 mm, F 4/45 mm, and F 4/90 mm.
The slimline adapter adds only 21.4 mm to the length of the lenses and weighs 112 g, maintaining the compact, lightweight design philosophy of the X1D camera system.
When using XPan lenses, both aperture and focus are controlled manually on the lens. Additionally, as the lenses have no built-in shutter, the camera’s electronic shutter must be used to capture images.
Note: XPan lenses were originally designed for film use, and slight edge softness may occur in some cases. This is caused by the IR filter and sensor cover glass now being in the optical path. Stopping down the lens will improve its performance.
