The MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard is designed for use with processors on the Socket 1700 and is equipped with the Intel Z790 chipset. It supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM with speeds of up to 7200+ MHz across four DIMM slots. For expansion, it features one PCI Express 5.0 x16 slot (x16), one PCI Express 4.0 x16 slot (x4), and one PCI Express x1 slot. The board is equipped with four M.2 connectors: three of which support the PCI-E 4.0 x4 standard, and one is compatible with both PCI-E 4.0 x4 and SATA3. Additionally, it has seven SATA Revision 3.0 ports for connecting additional drives. The chipset and VRM cooling is managed by heatsinks, ensuring stable system performance under heavy loads. The motherboard supports RAID modes 0, 1, 5, and 10. For networking, it includes an Intel 2.5GbE LAN port, as well as support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Audio outputs feature the Realtek ALC4080 codec with 7.1 channel support and optical S/PDIF. The board has multiple USB ports, including USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and USB 3.2 Gen 1. The motherboard's form factor is ATX, with dimensions of 305x244 mm. The reinforced PCI-E slot enhances the reliability of installing graphics cards and other expansions.
